Position summary T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Principal Engineer, Software located in Bellevue, WA will lead complex projects, design, test, deploy and maintain Software Solutions and mentor and provide guidance to team members on various Software Application projects. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Build software architecture and design of complex, secure, geo-redundant, highly scalable software platform using Java, JEE, advanced Java and JavaScript frameworks. Design and build secure Application Programming Interface (API) using Java, Spring Framework, Microservices architecture and OAuth security protocol. Design and develop internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or business functionality. Implement API integration, develop and deploy API proxies through Cloud-based API management services such as Apigee. Deploy applications through automated build pipeline using CI/CD methodologies. Host applications and APIs on Container environments like Kubernetes, Docker, and other cloud hosting platforms (Azure). Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications. Design and develop applications using Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD). Utilize development skills to build (code) new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and automated unit tests. Utilize experience in conducting performance (load) testing to analyze load test results. Utilize the platform monitoring tools like AppDynamics, and Splunk to monitor and troubleshoot application issues. Develop telecommunications applications, with real-time and batch transaction processing. Perform Code Reviews for all code written by the other developers, review code for team and industry standards compliance, and provide feedback to developers. Facilitate/lead reviews (walkthroughs) of technical specifications and program code with other members of the technical team, and communicate design, requirements, feature set, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications to the team. Enforce Industry-best practices for Systems Development Lifecycle Methodology as a guide for development activities. Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance. Skill requirements: Developing Middleware applications using Java (J2EE) for exposing Application Programming Interface (APIs) for business to consume and integrate. Utilizing Microservice, SOAP, REST, and XML and Docker services to conduct Enterprise integration. Designing and developing complex multi-tiered applications including Frontend, Middleware and Database web applications for Enterprise using Agile methodologies: SCRUM, RUP, XP, and OO modelling. Designing and developing applications utilizing Relational Database Management System including Oracle and No-SQL Databases including Cassandra, Couchbase.
