Key job responsibilities
Design and implement data-driven approaches to support decision-making across the business
Apply a range of scientific techniques to solve complex business problems with unclear solutions
Develop and automate large-scale analyses using SOTA algorithms and tools
Validate findings against alternative approaches and key performance indicators
Build strong relationships with stakeholders to drive improvements and prioritize customer needs
A day in the life
As a Data Scientist in Global Logistics, you'll start your day by reviewing the latest data trends and system performance metrics. You might collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational challenges, then dive into data analysis using advanced statistical methods. You'll develop models to optimize logistics processes, present findings to business partners, and work on implementing solutions that directly impact Amazon's global supply chain efficiency.

Basic Qualifications
2+ years of data scientist experience
3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
