Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will use a computer to access and modify direct digital control (DDC) systems. You will ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specs, or other instructions. You will troubleshoot highly complex pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic sensing and control systems including central environmental monitoring and control systems for heating and cooling, refrigeration, humidifying and dehumidifying. You will install, overhaul, repair, fabricate, and/or modify electronically controlled industrial systems, components, and/or subassemblies. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Investigate, troubleshoot and repair nonfunctioning and under-performing heating, cooling, humidifying and dehumidifying systems; 2) Interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, and use shop mathematics; 3)Use all hand tools, test equipment, and instruments, welding equipment and shop machines; 4) Observe and test the operation of heating systems in order to localize malfunctions in automatic controls, piping, pumps and related components; 5) Analyze and troubleshoot complex air conditioning heating, and electrical systems from schematic diagrams. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. This announcement uses the Modified DHA for Certain Personnel of DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, or Relocation) may be authorized to eligible selectees. Several vacancies may be filled. PHYSICAL EFFORT Work assignments require moderate physical effort. Incumbent frequently performs moderately heavy lifting pulling and carrying of equipment and material weighting up to 40 pound. Occasionally the incumbent will lift or pull heavy cable weighing more than 40 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The incumbent may work aloft in bucket trucks, at ground level and in ground trenches or manholes. The incumbent may have to bend, crouch, reach, stoop, climb, walk or stand for frequent or long periods of time. The incumbent must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors. The incumbent at times will work in awkward positions and restricted spaces where coordination of hands, legs and body are needed to perform tasks. Occasionally, climbing and working in high places may be required. WORK CONDITIONS The work is performed indoors/outdoors. The incumbent may be exposed to: temperature extremes of hot and cold, chemicals, unpleasant orders, fumes, wet slippery surfaces, and/or loud noises. There is the possibility of strains from awkward positions, injuries by falls explosion of equipment or cables and low-voltage electrical shock The incumbent will use protective equipment such as ear plugs, hard hat, flame retardant coveralls, blast suits, nonconductive gloves and footwear.
