What You Can Expect
Responsible for directing Medical Education and Events in the given regional area of responsibility by establishing Zimmer Biomet’s leadership in improving the skills of Surgeons and other Health Care Professionals through medical education in line with Global and EMEA Strategy. Specifically, responsible for the design, facilitation and the implementation of product and procedure education for Health Care Professionals which will enhance surgical outcomes and patient results. Continuously improve the Zimmer Biomet Institute (ZBI) educational programs. Manage directly the dedicated Medical Education and Events team.
How You'll Create Impact
• Develop the Medical Education strategy for all segments and solutions in conjunction with Marketing and Medical Education colleagues
• Develop and nurture relationships with thought leaders in orthopedics
• Develop best-in-class educational programs by designing mixed digital learning approaches to extend reach, increase engagement and enhance the value of in-person learning formats.
• Help identify and leverage leading-edge technology for Medical Education (e.g. VR, AR, web platforms for best delivery, etc.)
• Execute best-in-class medical education and training programs that are responsive to the changing needs of our global customers (defined in collaboration with the global commercial organizations)
• Generate new ideas to drive Excellence in Professional Education
• Manage the strategic planning of the Events and Medical Education function. Develop and facilitate annual business plans for the Medical Education and Events including surgeon faculty, and educational content for Zimmer Biomet course programs and events
• Operationalize plans in line with changing business needs, including budget
• Manage and develop Medical Education Managers and Events Operations.
• Assess and report the instructional effectiveness of course formats and materials through evaluations and feedback
• Work with internal and external stakeholders including Surgeons, VP’s, Segment Leaders, Country Managers, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Zimmer Biomet Management to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs
• Communicate frequently and effectively with various project collaborators and subject matter experts to ensure that goals and objectives are being fulfilled
• Work directly or indirectly with various committees including Business Conduct Committee (BCC), Arrangements Review Committee (ARC), Tender Review Committee (TRC) and others as appropriate
• Provide regular systematic reports on progress to Senior Management in EMEA
What Makes You Stand Out
Education
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably including formal studies in education and / or business required.
Professional experience
• 7-10 years’ experience managing others and working directly with customers, technical experts and professional staffs in medical devices or healthcare preferred.
• Experience of Strategic planning preferably of medical education functions, and generating new ideas to enhance customer skills and learning
Special Expertise
• Must be proficient with commonly used software.
• Experience with leading technologies and digital medical education is an advantage
• Ability to establish assigned programs to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the organization’s efforts in achieving strategic goals
• Ability to select and recruit the most effective staff for specific roles and functions in the group
• Ability to define and deliver the educational needs of the region
Your Background
Languages
• Fluency in English is required and other languages an advantage.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in English
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills
• Commitment to customer service and team-oriented management
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and influence all Zimmer customers, both internal and external
• Ability to manage and meet deadlines
• Must be enterprising, diplomatic, and proactive at solving problems
• Documented successful track record in an education management role
• Knowledge of business base, including hips, knees, extremities, F&A, Sports, Robotics and Trauma is an advantage
