Amazon Data Center Technician, BJS - DCO in Beijing, China

Description

This role is a unique opportunity to work in some of the most cutting edge data centers in the world. Amazon data centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will be working on changing the face of Cloud technology in the region.

The roles will report into operation Manager. You will independently work on data requests, but sync up as a team to improve speed and quality of data deliverables. As a key team member you are executing the requests for data and think ahead which additional data points/metrics could help to understand and improve operational performance.

Your day job will include (but not limited to):

  • Provide oversight for programs and projects that have cluster-wide impact.

  • Manage and hold accountability for the program and project management governance model.

  • Conduct program reviews with senior managers and stakeholders.

  • Develop gap analysis, program schedules and critical paths.

  • Assess costs, benefits and risks, plus identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively through effective action and appropriate escalation.

  • Clearly communicate goals, responsibilities, issues and status to customers and senior managers.

  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and service owners.

  • Publish accurate and concise reports on time to maintain visibility and accountability.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in data driven process/error analysis

  • You have good communication skills

  • Ability to handle the day-to-day management of tasks, prioritization and resolution of problems and issues and experience in implementing action plans to meet objectives.

  • Good learning skills

  • Able to use English as working language

  • You are willing perform physical hands on work.

  • Self-starter and possesses flexibility to work in a fast-changing environment and ambiguous situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tool set

  • Knowledge for computer hardware and Linux system

  • Project management experience

  • Advanced Excel and analysis skills

  • Beginner to intermediate scripting skills or willingness to learn (eg Python)

  • Good at reporting and narrative writing
