PINPOINT FIBER Fiber Construction Laborer - Beatrice, NE in Beatrice, Nebraska

**Job Overview:

[The primary responsibility will be preparing job sites for underground and aerial fiber construction. Heavy manual labor includes potholing, digging bore pits, ground restoration, site preparation and clean-up. This person will also assist with placing conduit and fiber and building entrance work.

  • Locate existing utilities or hand dig and backfill as appropriate

``` - Flexibility to work across all divisions (underground construction, aerial construction, outside plant, inside installation and maintenance) as workload requires

``` - Haul tools and equipment at job site

```{=html}

``` - Willingness to learn how to operate heavy equipment

```{=html}

``` - Able to set up traffic control devices per design plan

```{=html}

``` - Restore ground conditions after excavation is complete which includes sod, sidewalks and asphalt

``` - Assist with trenching around utilities, placing buried conduit, and blowing fiber

```{=html}

``` - Assist with building entrance work including accessing false ceilings and crawl spaces

``` - Follow established safety rules on job sites and to and from job sites, and use common sense in maintaining a safe environment for self, team members, customers, and the public

``` - Must be able to work overtime, weekends and travel as needed

``` - Effectively function and communicate in a professional manner

``` - Other company related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skills in operating various vehicles and construction equipment

``` - Skilled in reading various construction documents including maps, staking sheets, and manuals

```{=html}

``` - Ability to utilize bucket trucks, ladders, climb power poles, access crawl spaces, ceilings, and trenches to access various installation and construction points as required

``` - Ability to sit, stand, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time

```{=html}

``` - Ability to use full range of motion in fingers, hand and wrists to operate necessary equipment

``` - Ability to establish and maintain working relationships

```{=html}

``` - Knowledge of basic computer operations including Microsoft Office Suite

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

``` - Minimum of 1-year utility construction experience preferred

``` - Valid Class A CDL license preferred
