Office of Conservation – Environmental Division
The Environmental Division is responsible for implementing the ground water management program, the water well programs for driller licensing, well registration and enforcement (construction and plugging standards), and the exploration and production waste (E & P waste) program for off-site (commercial) management of E & P waste. The division also manages all settlement and court related activity for litigation pertaining to site evaluation or remediation, and serves as technical support to other divisions for matters involving ground water impact resulting from E & P waste sources.
Location and Position Information:
This Administrative Coordinator 2 position is located in the Environmental Division within the Office of the Conservation in Baton Rouge, LA. This position provides support to the Groundwater Resources Program in administrative tasks, such as, data entry, scanning and digitalization of water well records.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Scanning of water well registration filed and other associated paper documents.
Data entry of water well registration information into the SONRIS system.
Tracking and reporting of various data entries.
Assisting Ground Water Staff with the proctoring of licensing exams and advisory meetings.
Additional responsibilities assigned by Supervisor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Computer Literacy: The ability to quickly and efficiently navigate a computer and the software associated. Including but not limited to Printer/Scanner combos, Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe. Previous knowledge of large-scale scanning software and equipment preferred.
Technical Adaptation: Ability to learn new technology quickly and troubleshoot as issues arise.
This vacancy is being announced as a part-time classified WAE and is open to all qualified applicants.
NOTE: This part-time position is not eligible for benefits or paid holidays, and has a limit to the number of hours worked (maximum of 1245 hours) in a 12 month period, beginning with the first day of employment. The hours belong to the employee and any available hours follow the employee.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience or training in clerical work.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Examples of Work
NOTE: Positions allocated at this level tend to focus on several examples of work as listed below:
Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a client.
Prepares, indexes, and scans documents into imaging system; may ensure quality of scanned images.
Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies; may involve entering information into an automated system.
Receives, stores, and distributes supplies; maintains inventory of such.
Collects and prepares for processing time and attendance sheets for department or office.
Maintains department's records system, including filing and retrieving documents, researching files, etc.
Serves as clerical assistant to a manager, which may include keeping appointment schedule, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the manager of administrative matters.
Serves as receptionist for the assigned work unit.
May deliver and pick-up various materials.
Performs related duties as assigned.
