At Caterpillar’s Indonesia Batam, we manufacture Hydraulic Shovels products used in building the infrastructure and mining to move materials that makes a better world. As a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor at Caterpillar Indonesia Batam, you will lead team responsible for developing and implementing new and improved plant operations including production and manufacturing, maintenance, engineering support, safety, regulatory compliance, distribution and warehousing.

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is available for this position.

What You Will Do:

  • Training and developing teams capable of completing business objectives and perform and support the plant operating functions.

  • Coordinating tool design, fabrication, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, etc.

  • Coordinating capital projects for process enhancement and to improve customer satisfaction, conducting research and ensuring proper approvals.

  • Coordinating the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.

What Skills You Have:

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Good proficiency in English.

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering-related degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with supervisory experience in the fabrication process or related field.

  • Having experience and strong understanding mechanical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Knowledge or experience in PFMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plan, IPV (In-Process Validation) and standard work.

  • Proficiently in computer assisted design (CAD) like Creo.

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment especially heavy industries.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):

  • This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
