Working closely with our Maintenance Manager, you'll oversee all installations, repairs, and upkeep operations, ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine. Your expertise will shine as you lead and supervise our maintenance staff, responding promptly to guests' requests to make sure their stay is safe and enjoyable.

You will be working your magic on a full-time year-round basis. Your standard schedule will be 40 hours a week, with the expectation that additional hours may be required to complete your assigned responsibilities. Your hours and shifts can vary, and can include early mornings, late nights, evenings, weekends, and holiday hours. The starting salary wage is $1,200 per week.

Essential Duties

  • Lead and Inspire Our Maintenance Crew: Train and guide the team, ensure they have necessary tools and skills, review tasks to maintain high standards, and provide positive feedback.

  • Be the Fix-It Expert: Quickly identify and solve maintenance issues, use expertise in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, coordinate with other departments, and ensure the hotel is safe, functional, and looking great.

  • Keep Things Running Smoothly: Schedule and perform preventative maintenance, conduct routine checks and repairs, and collaborate to improve maintenance programs.

  • Be Our On-Call Hero: Respond to emergency maintenance situations, and coordinate with vendors or guide coworkers.

  • Maintain Our High Standards: Ensure quality in all repairs and maintenance, follow procedures, safety protocols, and policies, and keep landscaping and interiors & exteriors in top shape.

  • Team Up with Our Awesome Crew: Communicate and collaborate with team members, deliver excellent customer service to guests, and assist colleagues, fostering a supportive environment.

  • Dive into Special Projects: Identify areas for improvement, plan and oversee enhancement projects, and ensure projects are on time and within budget.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.

Skills Required:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the property systems, including fire alarm, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and other crafts, along with their proper maintenance.

  • Thorough knowledge of hand and power tools, common appliances and hotel amenities.

  • Maintain a current Aquatic Certification and in-depth knowledge of pool maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation, ergonomics, and regulations for workplace safety.

  • Ability to manage time and adhere to productivity standards, including the ability to lead a team to meet performance standards.

  • Proficient at problem solving and prioritizing tasks.

  • Ability to give instructions and be adaptable.

  • Possess attention to details, integrity, and honesty.

  • Ability to communicate positively with teammates and guests.

  • Ability to supervise, lead a team, prevent, and resolve conflicts.

  • Ability to work well as part of a team.

Experience / Education:

  • Vocational or technical school education is preferred.

  • Prior experience working at a hotel or in a maintenance department is essential and required.

  • Two years of supervisory experience in building maintenance or equivalent combination of experience in a trade is required.

Performance Measurement:

90 Day performance review, annual performance review, attendance, productivity, feedback from others, guest response scores, etc.

Physical Requirements:

This is a very physically demanding job that requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and kneeling and climbing ladders and stairs. Lifting of up to 65 lbs. Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods.
