Job duties:
This is direct care mental health work in the coordination and facilitation of treatment groups for inpatients at Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) in Bangor.
Responsibilities include creation and revision of overall active treatment group schedule, daily coordination and communication to be sure groups are offered as reflected on treatment plans and daily group facilitation.
Additional job tasks include maintaining a database, data entry, data analysis and reporting.
It is anticipated that 50% of this position will be in group facilitation, 25% will be in coordinating and scheduling staff and 25% will include use of the database.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or related field -OR- four (4) years progressively responsible experience in an institution or community based mental health/developmental disabilities program.
The selected candidate must be a creative and engaging group facilitator with professional knowledge or experience that will support recovery of people with serious and persistent mental illness. The ideal candidate will also have computer and supervisory skills.

Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) (https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/ddpc) is a 69-bed psychiatric hospital serving the entire State of Maine that provides services for people with severe mental illness. As a member of a statewide community of care givers, DDPC collaborates with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, their community and personal supports, to provide recovery-oriented, respectful, compassionate, and effective psychiatric care and treatment in the least restrictive, safest, and most therapeutic environment we can create.
