Cisco Software Engineer - Perl Developer - Cisco Secure Firewall Team(4 - 8 Years) in Bangalore, India

Who will you work with?

Cisco Firewall Management team develops "management solutions" for next-generation firewall to secure our customers from a wide range of network security issues and threats. This team delivers "Firewall Management Centre" application, both OnPrem and OnCloud.

What You'll Do

You will be part of an Agile team working at a fast pace to deliver high-quality features for our next generation firewall management related products. The team is responsible for the lifecycle of the product from architecture, design, development and test. As part of this team, you would be responsible for new feature delivery, enhancement of existing features, bug-fixes, UT, IT and working closely with support teams to address customer issues.

Who You Are Minimum

Qualifications Bachelor's or Master’s degree (or above) in computer science or related field with 6+ years (if Master’s degree then 4+ years’ experience) is needed. Professional Software Development in Perl (Primary language of work), Python, REST API, Database, React UI.

Required Skills:

· Technically designing features and hands-on coding, working along with other team members

o Very good coding experience in Perl

o Strong fundamentals of data structures, algorithms, design patterns and async programming

o Very good understanding of the UT & IT test cases and experience of developing them along with feature development

Nice to have:

o Agile software development experience.

o A proven understanding of security best-practices in web development

o Open to learn new things at any point in time. Be it a new language or be it understanding the details of any module inside FMC.

What You'll Do

· Participate in development and testing the New/Existing Functionality in the Product

· Automate tests using FTL and Integrate them into Regression

· Work closely with customer support to provide timely resolution of problems

Sound knowledge of Design patterns

Have a very good understanding of design patterns to solve various categories of problems, along with sound understanding of RDBMS concept will help.

Must have Attitude & Soft-skills

Working closely with the team and across multiple teams is a must. Along with that, there has to be very strong curiosity for knowing and understanding the product. Eager to learn and adaptability to different technology, programming language, ways of problem solving is a must.
