Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager in Bangalore, India

Microsoft Teams is the hub for team collaboration in Office 365 that integrates people, content, and tools modern workplace teams to be more engaged and effective. 

We are seeking to hire an experienced and passionate Technical Program Manager who will collaborate across multiple organizations to help our engineering teams to  deliver critical requirements and features that provide differentiation to our fast growing Teams ecosystem.  This role will provide you with an opportunity to work with teams and technologies across the company and beyond. Guides teams to identify opportunities and gaps in the implementation of feature(s)/feature areas. Demonstrates and builds experiences across multiple groups or divisions. Guides and coaches teams in working with Software and Hardware Engineering to design architecture and integrated solutions for feature(s)/feature areas. Provides expertise to help teams define the multiple program goals and prioritization for the feature(s)/feature areas. Acts as a subject matter expert in orchestrating and integrating efforts for the development and implementation process of feature(s)/feature areas. Drives teams to develop the staging and implementation plan for piloting/release in alignment with Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for feature(s)/feature areas. Helps teams lead governance programs and processes to ensure that specific performance requirements and standards are met throughout the development lifecycle. Provides expertise to help teams partner with others to collect performance metrics. Guides teams to own the customer supportability experience and provides documentation. Guides teams to act as technical advisors to educate and evangelize the feature(s)/feature areas. In addition, this role has people management responsibilities, including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with Technical Leads and Customer Stakeholders to define and deliver valuable software solutions.

  • Drive technical discussions and scoping meetings to establish key features, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Capture key data and insights related to each engagement; as patterns and trends emerge, surface recommendations to internal stakeholders and service owners to improve and refine our products.

  • Leverage your talent and experience to solve cross-organizational issues and remove blockers.

  • Drive excellence in Program Management fundamentals through mentoring.

  • Maintain a customer-focused approach and understand problem set.​

  • Develop and manage program roadmaps in collaboration with PMs.​

  • Refine program/project scope and drive deliverables.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 4+ years directly involved with software delivery and/or technical implementation of complex production systems.

  • 3+ years of working and communicating directly with customers at engineering, stakeholder, and executive levels.

  • 3+ years of Program Management, Product Owner or Product Engineering experience, including shipping complex production systems that run on a hybrid or public cloud. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid customer presence and experience managing customer relationships.

  • Desire to embrace challenges and solve problems using an entrepreneurial and value-driven approach.

  • Subject matter excellence in Lean / Agile mindsets and common software delivery frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Scrum).

  • Ability to distill information and communicate directly with senior leadership.

  • Experience mentoring and contributing to a fast-paced, results-oriented team.

  • Experience working within geographically diverse and virtual teams.
