Position : Project Engineer

Location : Bangalore

Reporting : Engineering Manager

Nature of work : Individual contributor

Purpose : Lead Ingersoll Rand Product Development with Project documentation and Engineering activities

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the preparation of project documentation according to agreed times, methods and procedures with the customer for blowers and vacuum pump products.

  • Plans the schedule for readiness of both internal and external technical documentation

  • Assists the Proposal/PM during the bidding phase by analysing possible specifications for the timing of documentation submission to the customer

  • Assists the Project Manager in meeting agreed-upon submission dates for documentation as per the terms of the contract

  • Coordinates the phases from initial alignment to final technical clarification on technical documentation with the customer

  • Responsible for submitting documentation to the customer and maintaining a record of submission dates

  • Responsible for archiving all documentation related to the business unit.

  • Coordinates all tasks for documentation production with relevant owners, including relevant departments and external suppliers, to ensure timely submission of documents.

  • Produces standard technical documentation.

  • Produces and/or revises documentation templates according to business unit needs.

  • Technical documentation includes technical drawings, data sheets, spreadsheets, P&IDs, operating diagrams, wiring diagrams, Gantt charts, progress reports, painting procedures, packing lists, and test reports

  • Creates complex formulas and functions to automate data analysis and calculations using Excel

Essential Skills:

  • Min 1-2 year experience in preparing proposals, bidding documents, and project management.

  • Min 1-2 year experience in the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power plant, or similar industries as a Document controller, creating and managing technical project documents.

  • Hands on experience in P&ID, Operating diagrams, Wiring diagrams, Gantt charts, Progress Reports, Painting procedures, Packing list, and Test reports.

  • Experience coordinating with internal and external customers for technical documentation

Desired Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in Autocad, Inventor, Creo, and MathCad.

  • Experience with vault and Windchill would be an advantage

  • Proficient in Engineering Verification processes and methodologies

  • Strong knowledge of technical specifications

  • Expertise in Excel and VBA programming is a plus

  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project (MSP).

Personal Skills:

  • Clear verbal and written communication in English. Language skills in any other European language is a plus.

  • Proactive, self-motivating with ability to develop own priorities

  • Strong creative problem-solving mind-set

  • Ability to work with multi locational teams

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

  • 4-6 years of total experience after graduation.
