Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. The role involves taking responsibility for a range of accounting tasks within our telecom provider business. This is a key role, where you will manage tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Processing and managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Conducting month-end and year-end closings
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Managing the general ledger and assisting with the preparation of financial statements
• Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Assisting with other accounting projects as needed
• Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking action to collect delinquent payments
• Maintaining accurate customer credit records and processing customer credit applications. Requirements • Candidate must have a strong understanding of the general ledger and its applications
• Proficiency in handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) is essential
• Experience in preparing journal entries is required
• Must be capable of performing bank reconciliations effectively
• Familiarity with month-end close procedures is required
• Knowledge of year-end closings is also essential
• Applicants should demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
