Thumb Plastics, Inc. Production Operator in Bad Axe, Michigan

Title: Production Operator

Reports To: Production Supervisor Status: Full Time/Hourly Non-Exempt (40 hrs. /week; additional hours as needed to support company and individual goals)

Job Summary

To pack a specified number of quality plastic parts into an appropriately sized and labeled container.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Visually inspect and compare production parts with sample parts to ensure defect-free products within established production standards.
  2. Label cartons and scan as required.
  3. Package a specified number of defect-free parts in an appropriately sized and labeled container and place them in an appropriate location in accordance with packaging specifications to prevent damage when shipping.
  4. Ensure proper paperwork is being completed.
  5. Complete required tracking and documentation of production parts for traceability purposes.
  6. Perform secondary production operations, repairing and reworking of parts, and fill out related documents.
  7. Operate a pass-through fixture.
  8. Grind scrap material and separate recyclables.
  9. Record defective parts in the computer system.
  10. Be familiar with job instructions to fulfill customer requirements. Complete all related paperwork and charting requirements and turn them in at the end of the shift.
  11. Follow all IATF-16949/ISO 14001 policies and procedures.
  12. Follow lockout procedures.
  13. Follow all safety rules and housekeeping guidelines.
  14. Complete other duties as assigned.
