Aston Carter Staff Accountant in Avenel, New Jersey
A leading manufacturer is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role involves performing general ledger accounting, managing month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, and supporting audits.
Responsibilities
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Maintain and update ERP systems with financial data.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial information.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in the manufacturing industry or a similar sector.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Proficiency in general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v lookups, pivot tables).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00
