We bring passion and drive to carry out our mission of protecting our states public health and natural resources. TELEWORK This program operates remotely. Staff are required to reside in Texas, and work from home, within a reasonable commute distance of TCEQs Austin headquarters or a coastal regional office. Periodic in-person attendance is required for meetings and activities. YOUR FUTURE TEAM As part of TCEQ Legal Services, you would support the agencys Resources and Ecosystem Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies (RESTORE) program. This program provides federal funding to entities along the Texas coast to mitigate the impacts from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience coordinating, monitoring, and/or administering federal grant programs and budgets. Experience managing construction projects in coastal environment. Degree in Coastal and Marine Science HERES WHAT YOULL BE DOING... Prepare, coordinate, review, and reports on Resources and Ecosystem Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies (RESTORE) grants at various stages and ensures compliance with requirements and standards for the State of Texas and the Federal relevant funding entities. Coordinate activities related to federal grant requirements for coastal grants. This include developing the grant application, contracts, work plan and amendments; gathering and submitting documentation to federal granting agencies; approving project related invoices; evaluating project timelines; implementing adaptive management strategies to ensure timely project completion; and maintaining communication with applicable agency program staff and subrecipients to ensure compliance with state and federal grant requirements. Conduct budget-related activities for grant projects such as tracking subrecipient budget expenditures for project; reviewing invoices received for project progress and the required documentation for payment; and ensuring timely deliverables and entering updated milestones and deliverable due dates in grants database system. Follow project tracking for grant progress and compliance using automated data, grant management and accounting systems. Organize the receipt, review and approval of materials provided by grantees to comply with requirements during the project, to close out a grant, and to any additional future reporting requirements as outlined in the grant contract, 2 CFR 200 and the federal grant award. Keep electronic project records organized in appropriate directories for audit-readiness. Ensure reporting obligations are met for assigned grant and projects. Monitors and review subrecipient report for compliance with award and contract and prepares federally required reporting. Identify need and develop additional processes as necessary to better comply with state and federal requirements. Qualifications: EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Classification Minimum Qualifications Salary Grant Specialist II A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, plus one year of full time experience in developing, implementing, coordinating, administering, monitoring, and/or planning grant programs. One year of full-time experience related to examples of work performed may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education. OR A bachelors de ree from an accredited college or university plus three years of full-time experience performing supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work which must include: analysis of work problems having an administrative aspect and interpretation of complex written material; or planning, organizing, and coordinating requirements for support services or program operations where a wide range of demands are involved, including interpretation of complex written material. OR A graduate degree in public administration, business administration, environmental resource management, planning, or an area relevant to the position from an accredited college or university. $4,473 monthly Grant Specialist III A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, plus two years of full time experience in developing, implementing, coordinating, administering, monitoring, and/or planning grant programs. One year of full-time experience related to examples of work performed may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education. OR A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university plus four years of full-time experience performing supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work which must include: analysis of work problems having an administrative aspect and interpretation of complex written material; or planning, organizing, and coordinating requirements for support services or program operations where a wide range of demands are involved, including interpretation of complex written material. OR A graduate degree in public administration, business administration, environmental resource management, planning, or an area relevant to the position from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience. $5,091.00 monthly TRANSCRIPTS / COLLEGE HOURS or COURSE WORK See instructions on how to attach documents.
