Do you have a passion for driving innovation to transform this growing part of Amazon Business (AB)? Are you an expert in solving customer problems, identifying new opportunities, and building long-term strategies that excite and drive change for established and new customers? The AB team is seeking a talented and highly motivated Sr. Contracts Manager. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience supporting strategic and commercial sales efforts (pre- and post-award) and overseeing post-award contract execution, management, and compliance. Your responsibilities include working with members of the AB Sales, Operations, Legal, and Proposal teams, as well as other internal subject matter experts to meet the demands of a rapidly growing, dynamic business.

Key job responsibilities

• Business Partner to the Sales organization in support of their revenue goals.

• Execute goals for the AB Contracts team and supports broader AB goals.

• Support the competitive bid process by working with internal teams to shape strategic opportunities through the RFx lifecycle.

• Serve as the voice of the business to advise on, enable, and ultimately be held accountable for, contract compliance.

• Own contract management for all AB public sector contracts and Contracts team operations (e.g., compliance documentation and activities).

• Develop processes to ensure compliance obligations are being met and enhance team and cross-organization performance.

• Drive large-scale efforts that solve complex or endemic problems to mitigate risk and accelerate revenue growth.

• Decompose complex processes into straight-forward solutions, often inventing new ones to deliver on cross-organization contractual issues.

• Help scope, design, and develop processes and methodologies to address business needs while removing contracting roadblocks.

• Make strong, data-driven business decisions consistently. Recognize when designs/solutions require additional guidance (e.g., from senior management, stakeholders, or SMEs).

• Build the case for new programs/processes; influence teams to dedicate resources, and lead the effort through completion.

About the team

The AB Contracts team is responsible for managing the contract lifecycle:

Pre-Award - Acquisition shaping (i.e., support the Sales team in educating customers and stakeholders on the AB operating model, terms and conditions, contracting challenges and strategy, and procurement regulations); RFx and agreement reviews (i.e., compliance identification, interpretation, and assessments); designing compliance solutions; structuring, negotiating, and closing agreements to help drive revenue.

Post-Award - Executing compliance management activities; working with contracting officers and acquisition professionals on all contracting activities; developing go-to-market plans and collateral; implementing and executing process improvement strategies to ensure contractual compliance and reduce risk of audit failure.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
