Google Solutions Developer, Database and Data Analytics, Google Cloud in Austin, Texas

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience with cloud computing traditional enterprise data-center technologies.

  • Experience working with industry analysis and enterprise technology sales.

  • Experience producing technical assets or writing technical documentation.

  • Experience in object-oriented programming.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

  • 5 years of experience working with a variety of enterprise and cloud technology systems, designing solutions, or developing business applications.

  • Experience with Jenkins, Spinnaker, TeamCity, Bamboo, or another automation workflow engine.

  • Experience in software/systems development or a lead position.

  • Knowledge of the current state of infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, SQL/NoSQL, security, networking, and cloud-based delivery models.

  • Knowledge of tools like Chef, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes for managing the configuration of deployed workloads.

As a Solutions Developer with a focus on Databases and Data Analytics, you will help customers by developing/publishing solutions to help modernize their databases and warehousing applications. This includes solutions to help automate, manage, and handle infrastructure. You will provide direction on how to tailor the mechanisms used to secure and deploy workloads reliably and safely to production.

As a member of this team, you will communicate with businesses of all types to help them adopt Google products and solutions wherever they are on their cloud journey. You will explore and experiment with our suite of products, partner tools, and third-party applications to build and deploy cloud solutions. You'll scale your impact through publishing best practices, demos and tutorials, and develop code-samples that customers can use to deploy.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Facilitate technical discussions with customers, partners, and Googlers (roughly 50% of time) as needed through all phases of customer engagements.

  • Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and online.

  • Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive partners.

  • Provide customer and market feedback to product and developer teams to help define product direction.

  • Work as part of a broader Solutions Go-To-Market team to contribute technical assets, prioritize and shape solution direction, while impacting top line business and bookings.
