Conduct independent research in RNA biology, RNA analysis, and RNA diagnostic and medical applications using a wide variety of techniques, such tissue culture, recombinant DNA, biochemical assays, nucleic acid purification and analysis, gel electrophoresis, growth of bacteria, isolation of RNA and DNA, PCR, RT-qPCR, reporter assays, protein expression and purification, in vitro mutagenesis, and RNA sequencing and data analysis. Provide instruction, assistance and mentoring to graduate students.Write manuscripts and assist in the preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and proposals. make presentations at lab meetings, attend lab meetings and other meetings.
