Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Administrator with substantial experience working with Cisco, Meraki, and Juniper networks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure, security protocols, and system optimization. As a critical member of the IT team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, troubleshooting, and enhancing both wired and wireless network systems to ensure the organization’s IT operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Configuration & Management: Design, implement, and maintain diverse network environments, including routing, switching, and wireless solutions, particularly with Cisco, Meraki, and Juniper technologies.
Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor network performance using appropriate tools to proactively identify issues and optimize performance. Develop and refine network traffic strategies for bandwidth optimization and efficient connectivity.
Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, providing timely support to end-users and technical teams on both hardware and software problems.
Security: Ensure robust security measures are in place, including configuring firewalls, maintaining VPNs, and managing access policies to protect the network against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and breaches.
Upgrades & Patch Management: Perform regular updates to network firmware and hardware, ensuring compliance with IT best practices and evolving technology standards.
Documentation: Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation for configurations, processes, troubleshooting guides, and network diagrams for better scalability and knowledge transfer.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams for the seamless integration of new systems, enhancements, and IT infrastructure projects. Provide input to IT leadership on potential improvements and emerging technologies.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience managing and administering Cisco-based networks, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Hands-on expertise with Cisco Meraki solutions, especially in wireless implementation and cloud-based network management.
Advanced knowledge of Juniper networking equipment, including setup and troubleshooting of EX and SRX series devices.
Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and VPN configurations.
Familiarity with network analysis tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar monitoring platforms.
Excellent knowledge of cyber and network security practices, including firewall configurations and IDS/IPS solutions.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to relay technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, or equivalent.
Experience with other networking platforms or technologies like Fortinet and Palo Alto is a plus.
Background in scripting or automation with tools like Python or Ansible to enhance network administration efficiency.
Previous experience in scaling networks for organizations with 100+ devices or end-users.
