Raytheon is seeking a Ground Systems Senior Software Engineers to work and contribute on our classified programs. Our teams adapt to evolving customer and warfighter needs. The position works in a SCIF environment with flexible work hours to accommodate work/life balance practices.
What You Will Do
Design and develop software for satellite ground systems.
Experience with the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance.
Work with modern Developer Security Operations development practices and utilize Agile processes
Troubleshoot software errors and provide fixes.
Perform software designs for future capabilities
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior software engineering experience.
Experience developing software using C++ or Java.
Experience working with LINUX or UNIX operating systems
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Knowledge of satellite command and control software
Background in planning and scheduling algorithm implementation
Understanding of Agile development and software engineering best practices.
Background in microservices, Kubernetes, and containerized applications
Experience delivering application software
Experience modernizing legacy systems
Experience working with Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) versus Free & Open-Source Software (FOSS) and performing COTS/FOSS upgrades

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
