Financial Aid Processing – 65%

  • Work independently using critical thinking skills to review documentation submitted by students for completeness and compliance with institutional policy and federal requirements.

  • Review financial aid application for accuracy and ensure eligible aid is packaged and disbursed promptly.

  • Run and review exception reports and resolve errors while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Identify and resolve errors related to the origination and disbursement of Federal Direct and private student loans and Federal and State of Colorado grants.

  • Perform verification, manual packaging, and/or correct any discrepancies as needed.

  • Complete necessary application corrections and award adjustments based on student requests and circumstances.

  • Perform Return of Title IV Calculation (R2T4).

  • Assist in processing federal Direct Loans, Federal Graduate PLUS Loans, Federal Parent PLUS Loans, Private Student Loans, Short-Term Loans, Institutional Loans, and Emergency Loans.

  • Assist in processing AmeriCorp.

  • Run SAP, review and correct errors and process appeals.

  • Process and award scholarships, CASFA applications, and assist financial aid and scholarship appeal requests.

Customer Service – 10%

  • Thoroughly document student communication in the student information system, including email, phone calls, text messages, and virtual meetings.

  • Assist in answering and/or responding to emails, phone calls, voicemails, and video conferencing.

  • Assist in developing and delivering content for orientations, financial literacy presentations, and entrance and exit counseling.

Continuous Professional Development – 10%

  • Maintain current knowledge of college policies and processes and relevant accreditation and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders – 10%

  • Collaborate with the Systems and Operations Specialist and other team members to identify processing roadblocks, suggest, test and assist with the implementation of solutions.

Other duties as assigned – 5%

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Substitution : A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • One (1) years of professional level experience working in operations or systems in a financial aid and scholarships office.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Experience working with Oracle PeopleSoft within a higher education environment.

  • Experience overseeing data maintenance related to compliance.

  • Bilingual.
