Leader Communications Inc. VoIP Administrator in Augusta, Georgia

Position Summary

The VoIP Administrator will provide unified communications administration support to the data center operations, enterprise systems management, STIG and IAVM compliance, and desktop systems management capabilities.

Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government security clearance to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides expert technical support for VoIP networks, system upgrades, and end user instrument configuration.

  • Provides O&M support for new, existing, and future VoIP (secure and non-secure) technology.

  • Provides expert technical support for existing and growing VoIP networks, System upgrades, and equipment purchases.

  • Uses NetOps capabilities to execute VoIP/VoSIP responsibilities and functions.

  • Manages and maintains the Call Managers, Gatekeepers and Gateway equipment.

  • Monitors and identify capacity, quality and performance issues for VoIP traffic.

  • Prepares, maintains, and reviews circuit level voice IP drawings to develop VoIP TTP for VoIP implementation on installations.

  • Performs analysis of VoIP degradations and failures.

  • Provides trend analysis and recommendations to the Government to avert future issues.

  • Provide completed and accurate VoIP Diagrams and associated Voice/Video over Internet Protocol (VVOIP) compliance documentation.

  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and fine-tunes VoIP/VoSIP instruments.

  • Operates and maintains Integrated Access Devices (IAD) connected into the VoIP/VoSIP environment.

  • Administers the voice and video-teleconferencing portions of the UC System.

  • Manages and maintains Gateway VoIP/VoSIP equipment, where applicable on all networks.

  • Ensures current network software products are compatible with system configurations and ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards.

  • Performs function tests of systems components to identify and resolve technical problems, analyze system malfunctions, implement necessary corrective actions, and provide ongoing support for the resolution of complex problems and operating malfunctions.

  • Exercises system backups to ensure expedient restoration of the database for the respective network equipment.

  • Provides troubleshooting and installation support for VoIP/VoSIP desktop instruments.

  • Ensures that all components of the ATS remain in a secure state by applying all applicable STIGs and use of the DoD IAVM program.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

  • DoD Programs experience

  • Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI

  • Certification: CCNA/CCNP Voice certification

  • Must have ability to effectively communicate with management and peer

  • Ability to trouble shoot network incidences and provide a resolution report to management and/or customer

  • Ability to interact with all team members in a mentoring role, this includes assistance in troubleshooting, and transferring knowledge in regards to systems and topologies deployed

  • Ability to provide designs with bill of materials and cost estimate

  • Ability to perform network traffic and performance analysis to determine WAN bandwidth requirement and expected performance

  • Ability to use network trouble shooting tools and techniques

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Position requires sitting, for long periods of time. (Sedentary Work)

  • Most duties require extended use of a keyboard and computer monitor

  • Extended Telephone Use

  • May require lifting of 20-50 lbs
