Job Description:
The Technical Accounting Supervisor is responsible for supporting UPS accounting policies and procedures. He/She assists in the research and documenting the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
This position prepares technical writing, including drafting and updating accounting policies and procedures. He/she supports questions from other departments on accounting policies and procedures. The Technical Accounting Supervisor prepares accounting entries and documentation for several complex accounting areas. He/She may also assist in preparing financial reporting and related materials.
Other Duties:
Prepares and reviews updates to the company’s internal accounting policies and procedures manual, to ensure that accounting personnel in other parts of the company have access to current UPS accounting policies.
Provides updates to senior management on new and proposed accounting guidance, and the potential impact on the company.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience.
Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license, preferred.
