Waystar Specialist DevOps Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia
ABOUT THIS POSITION
As a Specialist DevOps Engineer you will be working with new and emerging technologies to help implement, manage and maintain our platform infrastructure at Waystar.
This role will work with operating systems, infrastructure as code tools, operating systems and cloud native technologies such as containers and Kubernetes.
Your experience should include developing, configuring and documenting existing technology as well as being comfortable working in multiple technology stacks and systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Works in datacenter environment as well as Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Builds and supports cloud native technology stacks including container-based development and Kubernetes clusters
Coordinates with Waystar technology team members to develop secure and highly available platforms
Responsible for developing and augmenting applications based on the functional and technical specifications
Adheres to Waystar coding standards and the approved technologies, proposing amendments to either when necessary
Attends to any work items assigned through the internal case system in a timely fashion
Takes ownership of work items assigned, communicates estimates and daily progress as part of the SDLC process, and actively works to resolve issues blocking progress
Provides estimates for project tasks using an internal project tool, and updates the estimates if they increase or decrease
Solves complex technical problems with little oversight
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
3+ years of experience analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
Proficient in one or more scripting language: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, or equivalent.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible
Solid understanding of container and orchestration systems including Docker/OCI runtimes, Kubernetes and Helm.
General understanding of GitOps and other DevOps methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment & welcome change
Highly self-motivated
Ability to work both in team and solo environments
Experience building highly scalable software solutions
Preferred Skills:
N-Tier and SaaS development experience is preferred
Experience with .NET Core, Java and PHP
Experience with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
Monitoring and APM tooling experience (Splunk, New Relic, DataDog, Grafana)
