JOB PURPOSE:
Assists with food preparation in accordance with our established procedural guidelines, and as may be directed by the Food Service Director. Follows community’s procedure for storing, serving and transporting food and supplies. IS also responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment. Follow community’s procedure for wait/waitress staff in our dining restaurant
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists cook in preparing desserts, salads and side dishes; and meal preparation as needed.
Checks and maintains water temperature in dishwasher and soaking sinks per policy and sanitation guidelines
Checks dishwasher with sanitizer strips and maintains cleaning solution levels and replaces as needed
Checks supply levels and orders as needed and stores in appropriate manner
Clean tables and changes tablecloths after every meal without exceptions
Cleans work area at the end of shift and after meals, including sweeping and mopping the dining area, bar and café area.
Delivers food and beverage orders Residents’ apartments or in dining area as specified by resident or supervisor.
Ensures coffee and tea dispensers are cleaned and working properly
Follows all cleaning procedures and schedules
Follows all wait/waitress procedures as directed by the supervisor
Follows procedures for serving partner and resident meals as directed by supervisor.
Must proficiently operate the cash register system and ensure daily receipts balance
Must train as required by supervise in upper tier table serving techniques, required for a Fine dining experience
Must train as required by supervisor in bar operation, drink making, and café ‘operations
Must wear specified uniform, gloves and hair covering as covered by regulations
Operates and cleans kitchen equipment such as carts, tables, counters, ice machines, coffee and tea machines, buckets, bus pans, dish machine, garbage disposal, etc.
Operates the Point of Sale food ordering system
Performs side work duties as outlined by manager
Removes all garbage from kitchen, wait station and bar area and cleans out garbage containers as needed
Scrape and wash dishes, pots and pans. Soak when needed
Separates, organizes and stores all clean dishes and silverware according to policy/procedure
Soak all silverware in diluted pre-soak solution and wash
Stores all cleaning solutions and materials appropriately.
Uses, maintains and cleans the appropriate serving equipment (ladles, spoons, scoops, etc.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
On-the-job training provided.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Pervious server experience preferred. Previous experience in long term care or assisted living communities preferred. ServSafe certification preferred.
