Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) delivers a suite of payments services to financial institutions via FedLine® Solutions, Fedwire®, National Settlement Service (NSS), FedCash®, FedACH® (Automated Clearing House), Check Services, and the FedNow® Service. In 2020, we undertook a strategic effort to transform FRFS from a product and support office framework to a national, enterprise-focused organization. The enterprise structure integrated the prior retail, wholesale, cash, and customer relations product and support offices into a new organization, which was further joined by the FedNow team in early 2024. Job Summary:
You will help administer and support Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) and Oracle databases in the development and operations support areas. Collaborate independently with initiative and project owners to provide expert advice and support to enhance business outcomes. You will report to the Application Delivery Services Director in the FRFS.
Responsibilities:
Perform research activities with a focus on complex business systems, automated systems development, infrastructure, enterprise information systems, and project enhancements with Bank and System-wide impact.
Identify and analyze operational impacts of new projects, services, infrastructure, enterprise information systems, and automated systems. Address moderately complex customer issues.
Support the organization with proposals for business system changes. Provide input to the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and safeguards.
Work with management and staff across customer and service provider areas to define business and technical requirements for enterprise information systems. Communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
Collaborate and communicate with team members to perform work, resolve issues, update statuses, and analyze and report on alternative design solutions.
Provides technical expertise to the development of solutions for such items as DBMS tools and utilities usage, database administration, backup and recovery, database performance tuning and monitoring.
Ability to influence development organizations to comply with database best practices and standards.
Lead the support and enhancements of Oracle databases in a highly available architecture.
Create and run PL/SQL program units such as procedures, functions, and packages.
Generate physical Data Definition Language (DDL) changes.
Assist with database platform patching, contingency events, and deployments.
Ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies.
Travel required up to 15% of the time.
Participates in data support on-call rotation
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
6+ years supporting, designing, and engineering highly complex data technology solutions across multiple diverse platforms requiring high performing, high volume transaction processing.
Oracle RDBMS and PL/SQL scripting experience required.
Unix, Linux, and/or AIX experience required
Java, Python, or other programming languages knowledge/experience
AWS cloud experience/training
Strong database knowledge, i.e., RDBMS Oracle/PLSQL, OBIEE/OAS, ODS, Warehouse, AWS Cloud
Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) and/or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) experience
AWS Cloud training and/or experience
Experience using ServiceNow and Jira
Experience working in Agile teams
Ability to independently provide summary and recommendations on operational data
Knowledge and understanding of data organizing or structuring complex data across varied data sources
Knowledge and understanding of data requirements management, modeling, and analysis
Knowledge of data modeling principles
