Serve as an expert in the Information Security domain by assessing potential risks and vulnerabilities in the network and provide actionable recommendations in the event of malicious activity. Provide technical knowledge and cyber security expertise needed to manage all security aspects of information systems and applications daily. Create, develop, and maintain standard practices and procedures to respond appropriately to internal and external threats. Oversee special projects and be able to plan and manage multiple projects or teams by applying project management expertise. Establish status quo for the networks and recognize any deviations. Assist in vulnerability scanning and remediation efforts for identified security concerns. Develop and implement countermeasures to mitigate potential security threats, especially those that are more complex and far reaching. Assess proposed changes or additions to information systems and applications, analyzing likely effects and side effects in advance. Implement security hardening and maintain security-related software to detect malicious code, viruses, and intruders. Ensure information systems and applications comply with requirements and government information assurance and cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methods. Apply expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems as well as fundamental Amazon Web Services security configuration and management. Periodically verify security features and operating controls are functional and effective. Maintain awareness of new and emerging cyber-attack threats with potential to harm company systems and networks. Provide feedback to design engineers and evaluate end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle. Develop and enforce information security policies, standards, processes, and procedures. Participate in setting up and managing Kubernetes clusters securely, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of containerized applications. Validate business requirements using Confluence to capture artifacts. Produce an implementation design based on the business requirements. Review designs with Cyber Architecture and peer review within Cyber Engineering. Work with tool partner to plan an implementation roadmap for the Cyber tool in question. Lay out the work effort in Jira for all tasks to be completed. Coordinate with the partner(s) responsible for the Cyber Tooling with regular status meetings and progress reviews. To enhance security awareness, work on developing and creating scripts to automate server activities. Provide support to the SOC for issues with the tools implemented. Position is fully remote and may be performed from anywhere in the United States.

The position requires a Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and two years of experience in the job offered or in cyber security. Stated experience must include software development lifecycle; project management; security hardening; Windows and Linux operating systems; Amazon Web Services security configuration and management; setting up and managing Kubernetes; Confluence; and creating scripts to automate server activities.
