Momar Safety Specialist ll in Atlanta, Georgia

Momar is looking for a new Safety Specialist ll!

Momar, Inc., a privately owned, specialty chemical manufacturing company based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Safety Specialist ll to join the Momar family.Reporting to the Health and Safety Director, the Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting the Safety Director in managing the company's safety programs by providing hands-on supervision of employees and projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point of contact and provide support for sales employees and technicians engaged in service-type work.
  • Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment to continually improve the safety experience for external service work.
  • onduct safety audits and provide reports to the Safety Director and Sales Managers to address any deficiencies.
  • Manage the orientation and recurring safety training needs for external staff.
  • Manage DOT compliance for Momars commercial fleet and drivers.
  • Administer the company's third-party vendor platforms, such as ISNet, Avetta, Veriforce, etc.
  • Manage the company's drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including prioritization and follow through.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Requires 25% to 50% of travel.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in a safety or operations role for a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial company.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification is preferred.
  • DOT experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift and/or move up to50 lbs.unassisted.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear,including a respirator (clean-shaven requirement).
  • The ability to work in low and/or high temperatures.
  • The ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • The ability to climb ladders or work at heights.
