Amazon Principal Technical Product Marketing Manager, Healthcare & Life Sciences in Atlanta, Georgia

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a talented, high-judgement technologist to create and drive our healthcare & life sciences product strategy, with a focus on defining portfolios of products that work together to address specialized workloads for industry customers.

As principal technical product marketing manager for HCLS, you will make recommendations for new service creation (e.g., defining ‘what’ to build) in partnership with product and services team(s), reviewed and approved by AWS leadership, and then drive positioning, messaging, and naming for those products. You will engage directly with industry customers in partnership with sales and technical teams to learn about key HCLS use cases, workloads, and technology needs, and bring these signals back to product teams to influence roadmap and messaging. You will act as a bridge between product organizations, sales teams, and marketing teams focused on HCLS customers, and help bring sales leaders closer to product teams to help drive alignment on product readiness and GTM strategy.

To be effective, you must work backwards from your understanding of customer and industry requirements, and “connect the dots” between various different AWS capabilities and services to make sure that we are building and marketing the right portfolios of offerings to meet and exceed the needs of our customers – and that we’re able to clearly articulate the value propositions of our capabilities. In this role you will leverage your own deep experience as a technologist who has worked closely with HCLS industry customers, synthesize external and internal data from multiple sources, and work closely with AWS Product Managers across numerous different services. You will guide feature prioritization, ensure consistency between various different services, and own the development of crisp, highly differentiated, and compelling positioning and messaging at the portfolio level.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a team

  • Partner with engineering and product management to develop portfolio-level strategy documents to guide prioritization of AWS offerings and capabilities we build for HCLS customers

  • Create positioning and messaging artifacts that will represent our HCLS-focused offerings at a portfolio level

  • Analyze and synthesize 1st and 3rd party data (including driving direct data gathering from customers) to define opportunities for our offerings

  • Engage deeply with industry customers at a technical level to understand their workloads, unmet needs, and opportunities to innovate

  • Act as an advocate for customers within AWS (both based on direct customer work and your interactions with our customer-facing teams) during the product development process

  • Involvement in the generation of content artifacts (presentations, demos, etc.) that can be leveraged broadly to educate customers on our offerings

  • Work closely with other AWS teams to ensure these value propositions are articulated broadly and clearly (e.g. re:Invent keynote, AWS Summits, other AWS sales and marketing channels)
