How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The DFP Systems Engineer will be a key member of Enterprise Applications team of Delta Flight Products (DFP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines. The Systems Engineer will work closely and collaboratively with various business units of DFP, Delta IT and other teams to successfully implement new functionality and support existing functionality in Aras.

The Engineer will be the expert in Aras Innovator for DFP and work with users from across the business functions to effectively use Aras Innovator. This includes functional aspects and technical aspects of Aras Innovator.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be an Aras subject matter expert.

  • Work closely with business users to understand and address functional and technical needs or make recommendations.

  • Actively manage the functional backlog of system enhancements including discussions with users and business leaders.

  • Work alongside an Aras functional team and outside consultants to meet DFPs requirements.

  • Coordinate the functional and technical aspects of Aras.

  • Implement and test new modules, reports, interfaces, and customizations.

  • Create/modify applications and develop, test, and implement configurations when needed.

  • Create and support customizations that are easy to upgrade and maintain.

  • Resolve Aras application-related issues in appropriate time.

  • Create/update technical and functional documentation.

  • Optimize the overall effectiveness of the Aras Innovator PLM system.

  • Perform data uploads and exports.

  • Assist users with data validation and testing.

  • Coordinate and ensure that preventative, scheduled, and emergency application maintenance and upgrades are done in a timely basis.

  • Implement and support integrations with Epicor ERP and other systems.

  • Manage maintenance upgrades, troubleshooting software issues, testing new functionality and configuration changes, and generating new reports/forms/dashboards for all departments.

  • Work closely with DFP Business Teams, Delta IT teams, other partners of DFP/Delta, and Consultants/Contractors to plan and deliver the required functionality per road map.

  • Work with the DFP Training team to develop training documentation and training the trainers.

  • Provide quick and effective solutions to achieve timely delivery of goods and services.

  • Develop process flows and business test cases, test data for enhancements and integrations.

  • Develop trouble shooting guides for frequently experienced system and process issues.

  • Take initiative to recommend process improvements and demonstrate creative thinking.

  • Manage and nurture an excellent working relationship with selected 3rd party service providers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by DFP Manager.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Experience in PLM systems and integrations.

  • Experience in implementing and supporting Aras solutions with demonstrated proficiency in application administration and system maintenance.

  • Experience with Aras customizations including UI customizations, client and server methods, and reporting.

  • Proficiency with C#, JavaScript, and SQL.

  • Working knowledge in manufacturing environments.

  • Should be highly collaborative with the ability to work well and interact with various departments throughout the organization and its parent organizations.

  • Must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner producing high quality deliverables.

  • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work product.

  • Work well in coordinating work through contractors and vendors to achieve business objectives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solution-oriented, multi-task capable with demonstrated ability to work well with others in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment.

  • Demonstrates initiative and self-directs work.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Hands-on experience and demonstrated knowledge of Aras Innovator PLM (breadth and depth).

  • Experience in an engineer-to-order manufacturing organization.

  • Aerospace and defense experience.

  • Ability to work across the multiple levels of the organization to understand business challenges, identify solutions and communicate well across these levels.
