Georgia State Job Bank Grants Management Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia
Location: Territorial Headquarters, Atlanta, GA
About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for Reviewing, analyzing, and processing complex grants and contracts requiring an advanced level of technical expertise; serves as a resource regarding the status of pending grants and contracts; advises of compliance with funding requirements of local/state/federal government, quasi-government entities, and private organizations providing funding for social services programs throughout the Southern Territory; safeguards
Key responsibilities:
Interprets statutes, regulations, and contract terms as a part of the standard contract review process; advises local Salvation Army units of compliance issues and potential contract management problems. Follows up with accounting personnel to ensure proper posting to the project. Researches any additional information necessary to maintain accurate project spreadsheets.
Confers with the Territorial Grants and Contract Director concerning various operational matters including any difficulty in processing or expediting contracts through the various departments of Territorial Headquarters.
Reviews regulatory changes and public notices concerning social services funding available to and/or currently being received by The Salvation Army.
What we are looking for in you:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or technical/vocational school in Social Work, Contract Management, or a related field. And
Two years of progressively responsible experience in contract management, administration, and/or service delivery preferably with Salvation Army programs, Or
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Georgia Drivers License
Willing to work systematically to become a Certified Grant Specialist and Reviewer and Certified Senior Grant Specialist, preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to sit and work at a computer for up to 75% of work time.
Ability to travel occasionally for extended overnight trips.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
