Diagnostic HYBRIDS, Inc. Production Biochemist I (#RP-1212) in Athens, Ohio

*Production Biochemist I.  *Support ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) production in accordance with the company's Quality System Regulations and established protocols (ELISA assays are used to measure antibodies, antigens, proteins and glycoproteins in biological samples). Perform wet chemistry and analytical testing practices for ELISA immunoassay production. Support manufacture and coordination of testing of all reagents represented in the work order assignments. Create and maintain production timelines for work order assignments. Summarize daily progress and present results to supervisor. Optimize the production of bulk solutions to meet required product specifications. Identify assay-related complications and assist in the resolution with supervisor or trainers. Operate a range of laboratory instrumentation and perform instrument verifications and/or maintenance utilizing a plate reader with Softmax Pro. Perform validation procedures for immunoassay methods under supervision. Edit assay protocols for review. 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. 1 year of life sciences laboratory experience. Employer will accept pre- and post-Bachelor's degree experience. Work experience to include: 1. Utilizing experience in biochemistry and microbiology to perform protein engineering and purification. 2. Utilizing data analysis or equipment software to set up custom spreadsheets and analysis templates for daily examination, interpretation and trend identification. 3. Utilizing the following methods and techniques: spectrophotometer and plate reader (Softmax Pro or LIS software) to support process improvement and product development activities for new and existing products. 4. Utilizing compliance procedures defined by regulations from FDA, any export countries and ISO organizations (ISO 13485). 5. Utilizing the following laboratory equipment: pipettes, scales and balances, incubators, pH meters, waterbaths, and freezers. 6. Using the following laboratory techniques and procedures: buffer and reagent preparation; following SOP, Batch Records, and Lab Notebook procedures; performing math and calculations involving concentration, dilutions, and composition; utilizing aseptic techniques and principles; and following Safe Laboratory Practices.
