Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to be incorporated into our team in Ashland, Virginia. This role encompasses managing inventory-based accounts payable in a small business environment. Our work setting is often chaotic, requiring a person who can thrive under pressure and meet deadlines. This role offers a employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle inventory-based accounts payable within a small business environment. • Cope with high-pressure situations and meet strict deadlines. • Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks. • Manage and code invoices accurately. • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Pivot Table for data organization and analysis. • Experience with landed costs/freight capitalization and the purchasing process is beneficial. • Maintain a calm demeanor in a chaotic work environment. • Handle customer credit applications, maintaining accurate records, and resolving inquiries. • Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments. • Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. • Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks software is required
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes
• Ability to accurately code invoices
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the creation and manipulation of pivot tables
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role is preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
