As the Youth Attendant, you care for children, have fun, and support your neighbors. You will be responsible for the safety, care, and fun for children visiting our Youth Development Center. You will be a highly visible representative of the YMCA team.
DESCRIPTION
- Consistently engage with children during each shift, including playing with children (toys, games, activities, arts/crafts, playing outside), reading to kids, holding kids, supervising play (watching play, yet still interacting, moving, and talking to the children), and following the curriculum.
- Greet members and children enthusiastically
- Lead activities, including arts/crafts, learning activities and games/physical activities.
- Always engage with parents when able. Connect parents with YMCA resources, such as Parents Night Out, Camp, etc.
- Keep facility safe and clean during and after programming is completed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum age of 16
- High School Diploma or in process of obtaining a High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in childcare related setting preferred
- Ability to work constructively and positively with children, parents and staff.
- Must be able to effectively supervise children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old
