SMX is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program Office (JPO) Special Access Program (SAP) networks.
This is an onsite role supporting our client in Crystal City, VA.
AS the Senior Systems Administrator, you will:
Administer, develop, run tests on, implement, and maintain operating system and related software
Establish and implement standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters
Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system, and networking problems
Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups and, when necessary, perform data recoveries
Recommend hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts
Schedule, plan, and perform system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments
Schedule tasks using software support tools and scripts
Configure hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices
Provide technical support for system users
Formulate architectural design, functional specifications, interfaces and documentation of hardware or software systems considering system interrelationships, operating modes and software or equipment configurations within Microsoft Exchange 2013
Support technical design/architecture, systems management and maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure, DNS, WINS, and Group Policy for enterprise desktop systems, servers, and applications
Performs systems engineering and Tier III Support of a multi-forest/multi-domain Active Directory structure spanning more than 20 sites
Required Skills and Experience:
Clearance Required: Secret
A Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the past five years is required. Individual must be eligible under the SAP Nomination Process for access to SAP/SAR
Minimum of five (5) years' experience
Ability to monitor Active Directory and Exchange related software/hardware and assist with monthly server maintenance
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Clients (Windows 10, Server 2012, 2016, 2019)
Experience working in an enterprise multi-domain AD environment as an administrator
Knowledge and experience in Inter-Domain trusts pertaining to Active Directory
Knowledge and experience with Active Directory support tools
Ability to follow established troubleshooting processes and procedures as well as recommend improvements
Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
IAT Level II certification
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Windows Exchange and Active Directory disciplines and protocols to include comprehensive knowledge of specific tasks
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DFS, DNS, Group Policy, Registry
Proficient in server virtualization technologies- VMWare ESXi, vSphere, NUTANIX
Knowledge and troubleshooting skills relating to DNS, Sites and Services, and WINS as it pertains to Active Directory
Knowledge of Group Policy and AD replication
