About the role: Provide global industry-leading technical support to Boston Scientific field personnel, clinicians, patients, and other internal customers. Help our customers use our products by providing immediate, accurate, and up-to-date information regarding current and historical market-released R&D products. Your responsibilities will include: Apply principles of Mechanical engineering, Physics, and Material Science to perform data driven development, optimization, and evaluation of novel or iterative designs based on customer and business needs Define and implement specifications, inputs/outputs, working parameters, and test methods using current best practice engineering methods and technologies Assess design risks and mitigations through tools such as FMEA, Fault tree, etc. Work closely with other key Boston Scientific engineering groups (Systems, Electrical, Human Factors, Packaging, Process Development, Manufacturing, etc.) to ensure robust holistic device/component design Leverage key internal and external specialty resources to address complex design issues Create robust documentation of requirements, protocols, evaluations, reports, etc. by writing clear and concise documents and filing per approved procedures and standards Track engineering effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool Continuously improve process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes Work under guidance of senior engineers and providedirection to Technicians on specific project activities Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higherin a science, technology, or engineering field, with a strong mechanical background Strong communicationand time management abilities Travel on average 10% to Boston Scientific divisions and suppliers world-wide Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering; or Bachelor's degree or higher in Biomedical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering with strong mechanical background Experience with medical device industry Python experience Requisition ID:583475 Among other requirements, Boston Scientific maintains specific prohibited substancetesting requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
