Now is your chance to help drive value to our Animal Nutrition division of Land O'Lakes through buying:SweetenersColorantsFlow AgentsFeed ChemicalsYour job would include being able to stay ahead of and interpret market trends, help in negotiating purchases, and communicate those insights to our cross- functional partners. This will help to drive our success financially for our company and the success for our customers. Additionally, you will have responsibility for sourcing/management of ingredients and additives for the Land 'O Lakes Purina Feed business. Working within the Animal Nutrition organization, the buyer will play a key role to insure adequate supply, quality, and optimal cost of ingredients to the manufacturing facilities and internal partners.Responsibilities:Ensure the supply of ingredients and additives, at the lowest total cost, in order to maximize gross margin and ensure adequate and timely supply to Land O'Lakes Animal Nutrition facilities.Gather and communicate market information and implications within the organization.Provide effective interface with key supply chain partners including pricing and formulation, manufacturing, logistics and quality.Manage relationship with assigned key suppliers.PO issuing and supplier follow up (Nutra Blend side)Required Experience/Education:High School Diploma and 4 years buying experience OR Associates or Bachelors Degree and 2 years of buying experienceBackground in procurement, feed ingredient merchandising or related businesses (preferred)Negotiation skills, knowledge of processing operations requirements and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated purchasing and system knowledge of ERP's,Microsoft applications, project management, and cross functions experience leading program as well as oral and written communication skills.Hours: Flexible, must be during regular business hours.Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 depending on experienceThe qualified candidate for this position can work remotely from anywhere is the U.S. however, this position would ideally prefer someone to live close to one of our company locations to be a part of the vendor interaction.About Land O'Lakes, Inc.Join us and be part of a Fortune 250, farmer- and member-owned cooperative that is reimagining the business of food.
