ASR Group/Domino Sugar Packaging Maintenance Supervisor in Arabi, Louisiana

OVERVIEW
The Packaging Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the supervision of high speed packaging equipment including Fanuc robot cells, Lambert palletizers, Orion Stretch Wrappers and Top Sheet Dispensers. The position also supervises electrical packaging employees in a unionized environment.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Instructs personnel in the proper performance of their duties as required
• Oversees maintenance and repairs adjusts when necessary Lambert and Fanuc Robotic Palletizers including all allied electrical and mechanical systems
• Responsible for guidance and oversight in troubleshooting and repairs of all related packaging machine problems with competent speed and accuracy
• Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, schematic drawings, and manufacturer’s instructions
• Responsible for continuous updating blueprints, schematics and drawings
• Determines materials and supplies needed to support maintenance and repair
• Responsible for services and overhauls of basic machine elements such as glue pumps, gear reducers, clutches-brake assemblies
• Performs/Oversees simple metal work, use of band saws, drill press, chop saw, fabricating brackets and rails, drill and tap, extracting broken bolts etc.
• Ensures that all work is being performed in accordance with established safety procedures
WORK EXPERIENCES
• At least 2 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Supervisor or Packaging Equipment Supervisor in a manufacturing facility
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent Required
• Certificate or degree in an Industrial Maintenance field required
• Military service will be considered
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
• Responsible for supervision and scheduling of union employees.
• Must establish relationships and address conflict through appropriate resolution skills and techniques as needed
• Must consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, and employees
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
• Fabrication skills utilizing shop equipment
• Must have ability to diagnose and correct operating issues with packaging and allied equipment
• Should have knowledge of machine lubrication and different types of lubricants is needed
• Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred
• Must have the ability to square, lace, replace, and track all types of conveyor belts
• Should be able to align, tension, and replace all types of power transmission devices. (V-belt, sheaves, chain and sprockets, bearings)
• Must have capability of troubleshooting electronic and repairing pneumatic systems
• The ability to troubleshoot using programmable logic controllers as listed.

• Required to work weekends as needed.
• Considerable physical effort required. Standing or walking up to 85%-90% of time; Climbing, lying in prone position, crouching, kneeling, carrying, pulling and pushing.
• May be required to lift moderate heavy materials, equipment, and bags of sugar.
• May be required to work on scaffolds, man-lifts or ladders.
