Intel Cloud Automation Test Engineer in Annapolis, Maryland

Job Description

The Intel cloud team within the Software and Advanced Technology Group (SATG) is developing and shaping the way people think about computing by focusing on developers, ecosystem partners, and academia. We are redefining the space with cutting-edge cloud services which leverage our portfolio of industry-leading SW and HW. The Financial and Foundational services team owns services and systems that help with our customer onboarding including registration, authentication, authorization, and all the customer's billing and invoicing processes.

As a Cloud Automation Test Engineer, you will:

  • Develops test plans for new functionality being built.

  • Creates test estimates and defines/builds reusable testing assets for large/complex projects.

  • Develops and implements test automation frameworks

  • Works closely with developers and other QA engineers to co-ordinate the end to end testing and identify and address any gaps in the plans.

  • Provides technical leadership and supports the creation of complex tests.

  • Defines and administers standard testing architecture methodologies, processes, and tools across different cloud services.

  • Designs, implements, and improves quality practices across functional and non-functional testing

  • Supports the strategic direction of CI/CD and quality assurance

  • Develop and maintain a planning model that estimates the ROI of test automation.

  • Track and report actual ROI.

  • Has delivered test maturity assessments, providing, and successfully implementing an improvement plan.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ years of experience -OR- a Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years of experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 1+ year of experience in:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Cloud Automation Test engineer.

  • 4+ years' experience in leading multiple release cycles.

  • 4+ years' experience with technologies such as cloud, web servers, application servers, and databases (SQL/ NoSQL).

  • 4+ years' experience with scripting/programming/computer architecture.

  • 4+ years' experience successfully managing highly complex test programs on schedule, to budget and quality standards.

  • 3+ years' experience with full software project lifecycle (waterfall, agile, DevOps).

  • 3+ years' experience with application/network Monitoring Tools (Prometheus or Nagios etc.

  • 4+ years' experience in JavaScript, Go, Python, and other languages.

  • 4+ years' experience with Microservices, Node, Angular and React.js

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of test architecture leadership, with a proven track record of building modern automation frameworks, along with proof of achieved ROI.

  • Experience working with High-Performance Distributed Computing Systems (server and serverless).

  • Experience with modern and advanced automation techniques, like self-service, keyword, scriptless, or BDD frameworks.

  • Proven track record of building and delivering enterprise-class products.

  • Experience in the delivery of AI capability in an automation framework is a plus.

  • Crisp and effective executive communication skills, including significant experience presenting cross-functionally and across all levels.

  • Have a passion for testing, technology, and innovation combined with experience working with public cloud platforms

  • A desire to continue to develop both personally and professionally

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $162,082.00-$243,222.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
