Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Angels Camp, California

Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Angels Camp, California. The role involves managing all aspects of the credentialing, contracting, and re-credentialing processes for providers. You will also work in conjunction with the Compliance Department, ensuring the development of departmental policies and procedures, and provide support services in monitoring the continuity of the healthcare staff activities.

Responsibilities:

• Implement a formal and documented program that ensures verification of all necessary credentials for every job applicant

• Monitor the privileges that are delineated in the provider’s job description or as part of his or her employment contract

• Ensure that Credentialing and Privileging is completed before any individual is allowed to provide patient care services

• Review an exclusion list on a regular basis

• Make a final determination that a licensed or certified health care practitioner meets all of the credentialing requirements

• Implement a tracking system for license, DEA and professional liability expirations and maintain a data base on all providers

• Work with all accepted health plans to setup new contracts, update provider rosters, and perform any verifications required

• Maintain all clinic licensing including new applications and renewals

• Attend, coordinate and assist with medical staff meetings as indicated

• Provide support when processing provider CME (Continuing Medical Education) requests

• Provide support to the Billing Department Requirements • Proficiency in Credentialing and Contracting processes within the healthcare sector.

• Demonstrable experience in handling Contracts related to medical services.

• Proven expertise in Medical Billing procedures and best practices.

• Familiarity with the process of Renewals in healthcare contracts.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with various healthcare professionals.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Proficiency in using medical billing software and other relevant computer applications.

• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

• Knowledge of medical coding and healthcare regulations.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.

• Strong problem-solving skills to address billing discrepancies and resolve issues.
