Job Description:

Scope:

As a Battery Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of battery products used in consumer goods. Your responsibilities will involve inspecting, testing, and evaluating battery components and finished products to meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities / Skills

  • Quality Inspection:

  • Inspect battery components (cells, BMS, etc.) from returns or failures

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with quality standards.

  • Evaluate product functionality, safety features, and overall performance.

  • Document any defects or deviations from specifications.

  • Testing and Analysis:

  • Conduct performance tests on batteries using specialized equipment.

  • Analyze test results to identify any issues related to capacity, voltage, temperature, and cycle life.

  • Assist in the development of test procedures and protocols for evaluating battery performance and reliability.

  • Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigate customer complaints related to battery performance or safety.

  • Identify root causes of defects or failures.

  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality assessments.

  • Generate reports summarizing findings and recommendations.

  • Communicate quality-related information to relevant stakeholders.

  • Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

  • Promote a culture of quality and safety within the organization.

Education And Experience

  • Associate degree or technical certification minimum

  • Experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in battery manufacturing, electronic manufacturing or related fields.

  • Familiarity with battery technologies, materials, and assembly processes.

  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality control plans.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel globally (up to 30%)

  • Strong Microsoft Suite and/or Power BI skills a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift as much as 30 pounds at times.
