Adecco US, Inc. Material Planner & Buyer in Anasco, Puerto Rico
Summary:
Responsible for planning, coordinating and expediting the flow of the materials (from suppliers and within departments) according to production schedules and requirements. Position requires understanding of manufacturing and material flow concepts, methods and procedures.
Essential Duties:
Ability to understand materials flow across the entire manufacturing facility and move quickly to adjust to productivity interruptions.
Use data and analytics to drive material flow to meet customer commitments.
Plan/purchase material (both direct/indirect), within established targets/budgets.
Own consignments & stock-in programs (if applicable), which include weekly report-outs on consumption (input / output tracking).
Maintain ERP system adequately to ensure supplier parameters accuracy and meet plant’s inventory targets.
Drive ERP system execution: Comply with their respective metrics (sub inv. Accuracy).
Engage in all new ERP system enhancements; support distribution/implementation to plant as needed.
Track & monitor metrics related directly to materials such as; but not limited to, Material Availability, Supplier Expedite Report, Past Due Orders, Committed Orders Report, Excess on Order, Supplier Late Receipts Record keeping, Supplier Scorecards etc.
Assist suppliers with issues brought to attention, ensuring rapid resolution.
Act as the liaison between supplier & quality department to ensure that quality issues reach full resolution.
Active involvement in all material initiatives such as minimum order quantity & lead-time reductions & supplier consolidations.
Interact on a daily basis with production to proactively solve material shortage situations, in order to meet and/or resolve customer demands.
Key participant in business initiative.
Work with reports such as Open Orders and demand report, as well as any other to pull customer demands and/or requirements as planning tool.
Active involvement in VCP and deflation projects, contributing directly to plant’s overall goals.
Adherence to all EHS practices & procedures.
Source material as required to new sources of supply or second sourcing.
Release purchase orders to suppliers as needed for inventory and non-inventory purchases.
Create and Maintain Blanket orders for price and quantity.
Manage and control MRB reviews if required.
Understand & control predetermined inventory targets for each month and maintain those targets.
Perform inventory transaction from the shop floor to maintain inventory integrity.
Drive regular improvement in Purchase Price Variance (PPV) through RFQ’s, auctions, and negotiations with suppliers.
Adherence to all approved operating budgets within business unit including PPV and inventory initiatives.
Responsible for interaction with Contract Administrators for material availability on new orders, contract review.
Supervise material handlers as required.
Perform any other task required by their supervisor.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; preferred with engineering degree.
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment in Materials.
Minimum 1 year experience in scheduling, planning or project management.
Speak, read, and write English and Spanish.
Strong time management, organization and customer service skills required.
Strategic thinker results oriented and exceptional energy and drive.
Proven teamwork and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and ERP systems.
Proficiency in SAP (desirable).
Ability to work well in a team environment and to perform under pressure / against tight deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time to meet delivery deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Pay Details: $0.01 per hour
