If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Frontend Engineer focused on improving AWS developer experience.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities

As a Frontend Engineer being part of the Editing Experience team, you will play a vital role in delivering web experiences that boost the productivity of AWS developers around the world. You will focus on enhancing the developer experience including leveraging the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities that delight our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ship features from design to release as well as to optimise tools, processes to improve upon operational excellence for your team and for our integrators.

About the team

The Editing Experience team owns cloud-based code authoring tools such as smart editors with support for various languages with extensions. Our mission is to empower developers building on AWS by providing them a delightful, accessible and consistent user experience, ensuring their success no matter the task. We are a diverse team that values critical thinking and continuously learning from one another. Our work is fast-paced, creative, challenging, and a lot of fun. Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience designing, developing, and deploying production software

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)

  • Familiar with software architecture, data structures and modern design patterns

  • Good understanding of web standards

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as TypeScript, Javascript, HTML and CSS

  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate about developer tooling and improving developer workflow

  • Experience developing front-end applications at scale

  • Experience using front-end frameworks (React, Redux)

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies

  • Passionate about the user experience
