IIMAK Accounting Manager in Amherst, New York
Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager supports the Finance department by overseeing the month end close, preparing financial statements, journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. The Accounting Manager leads the Accounting department.
What you'll be responsible for:
Manages accounting functions including general accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable, month end closings.
Responsibility and accountability for the accounting teams. Helps to initiate work processes and procedures across the purchase to pay and accounting functions.
Oversee month end close process including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and periodic financial statements to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
Provide support during year end external audits.
Assist in preparation of periodic financial forecasts and annual budgets.
Support monitoring and reporting on operating budget variances.
Provide analytical support with other financial reporting and special projects as required.
What you'll have:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years in a people leadership capacity
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Experience working with SAP, Microsoft AX or a similar ERP system strongly preferred
Proven ability to meet financial closing and other reporting deadlines
Technical accounting and/or tax research skills desired
Excellent management skills
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure
