AMHERST - Marketing & Events Coordinator Job Description: The Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce seeks a dynamic and creative Marketing & Events Coordinator to drive our marketing initiatives and oversee the execution of key events. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for community engagement, adept at developing compelling marketing campaigns and orchestrating impactful events. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional with strong organizational skills, capable of enhancing the Chamber\'s visibility and fostering connections within the community. Qualifications: Proven experience in marketing, event planning, and business/community development. Proficiency in digital communication tools, including social media platforms, graphic design software, and CRM systems, ensuring effective online engagement and efficient member management. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage diverse teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience implementing initiatives preferred. Typically, this is a 40-hour workweek role, but occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support Chamber and community events. Position requires the ability to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds and participate in event setup and breakdown. Salary: Commensurate with experience. Salary Range: \$50,000-\$54,000. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Marketing responsibilities: Drive high-quality membership communications through the Chamber\'s newsletter and direct outreach, including developing and maintaining all Chamber social media outlets. Oversee the production of marketing and promotional materials for Chamber membership and events and manage the annual Downtown Banner campaign. Manage the gift card program in conjunction with Visitor center staff. Events: Oversee the planning and execution of signature Chamber events such as the annual meeting, fundraisers, awards banquets, networking events and other special events ensuring they continue to grow in impact and attendance. Innovate and diversify event offerings to meet the evolving needs and interests of members and the community. Ensure professional and efficient management of volunteers, contractors, and event activities. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Member Relations: Develop strategies for targeted member engagement to support revenue growth. Serve as a key point of contact for Board, Chamber Champions, Strategic Partners, and Ambassadors. Act on member feedback to enhance Chamber services and conduct periodic membership surveys. Ensure fulfillment of sponsor benefits as it relates to marketing, events, and communications. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Advocacy: Advance the Chamber\'s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by promoting initiatives that foster a welcoming and inclusive business environment. Support the Chamber\'s DEI task force in advocating for inclusive policies and practices in the broader community. Administrative Responsibilities: Assist in general office duties and other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director. Demonstrate adeptness in utilizing office systems, including Google Drive, for document management, collaboration, and data organization. Liaise with the accounting group to process inbound and outgoing invoices related to membership, marketing, and events. Support the Visitor Information Center staff efforts occasionally as needed.
