Aston Carter Senior Accountant in Ames, Iowa

Senior Accountant

Permanent position

$95k/yr. to $100k/yr. + DOE (plus bonus potential)

Description:

Our client in the agriculture/food industry is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller. This

position can report into offices in either Des Moines, Iowa or Ames, Iowa. If sitting in Des Moines, travel (max 1 time/week) should be expected to the Ames

office.

Duties to include:

  • Research, evaluate and aggregate information for various programs.

  • Prepare monthly reporting for multiple entities.

  • Assist in tracking and reporting on project spending.

  • Ad hoc reporting and reconciliations.

  • Research and ensure compliance with sales tax regulations across states.

    o This person will spend plenty of time researching multi-state tax regulations on their own, we’re searching for someone who’s self-motivated and okay with working on their own with little guidance, but that can also share information/feedback with the rest of the accounting team when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with multi-state accounting.

  • Multi-entity/intercompany accounting experience heavily preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
