JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Altoona invites applications for a part-time instructor in Communications for the Fall 2024 Semester.

Teaching opportunities include introductory-based course(s) in Communications, specifically in the Media Studies and/or Film/Video areas. The ability to teach COMM 242 (Basic Video/Filmmaking), an introductory-level production course, is required. Future opportunities to teach COMM 150N (Art of the Cinema), COMM 100N (Mass Media and Society), and/or other COMM courses could be possible with the appropriate qualifications. Candidates are required to have relevant hands-on industry-based production experience.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Communications or a related field; and/or hold advanced certification/expertise in a related, specialized field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until all vacancies are filled. Part-time teaching is for the 2024-2025 Academic Year and all courses are held in-person. There is no option for online synchronous or asynchronous instruction.
