WSP USA Survey Field Technician in Altamonte Springs, Florida
This Opportunity
Takes part in providing survey support on projects to ensure construction compliance with plans, photogrammetric work, measurements, boundaries, calculations, and codified requirements for public and private sector client projects. Tasks may include performing land surveys on various assigned construction projects of basic to moderate scale and/or complexity, which may include visually mapping/drafting legal boundaries and the potential placement of structures, utilities, and installations. Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, uniformity, thoroughness, and legal compliance for survey documents.

Our local survey team has a professional services presence of 30+ years in Florida, professional mentors with a combined experience of 130 years. Your Impact
Perform field work efforts for land surveying services of all types
Operate survey total station, GNSS/GPS and level instruments
Record survey data in field books and/or data collector
Maintain field equipment in a clean and secure manner
Perform pre-start vehicle checks to ensure operability, maintenance and safety
Assist with survey file processing and field calculations
Work on several jobs simultaneously
Maintain good client relations
Project Related Responsibilities: All facets of surveying projects including but not limited to:
Collection of record data for boundary surveys
Establish project control monumentation
Collection of topographic information for 3D mapping
Coordinate with office staff
Providing construction layout on WSP project.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
A minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years relevant experience
Appropriate health and safety knowledge/training
Good written and verbal communication skills
Superior organizational skills
Basic computer skills and technical competence
Commitment to take on the challenging work within the WSP organization
Valid driver’s license
Ability to travel to project site for extended periods of time
Must pass background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with utility locating
Additional compensation for candidates with survey-geomatics experience, training or certifications such as Certified Survey Technician, (CST), program
Physical Demands
Performing work in a variety of climate conditions including hot and cold weather climates
Ability to work in field walking, standing, and using a variety of hand-held equipment for extended periods is required
Must be able to work in a field environment and have the ability to travel as required
